Aamir Khan says: President Obama heard alot about my works and Films: It was a matter of great honour for Aamir Khan who was especially invited by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for a private dinner with the visiting US President Barack Obama, and when Aamir heard that the President knows about him and his films, he was overwhelmed.
While talking to the press about his meet-and-dine experience with the President, Aamir says, “President Obama said he has heard a lot about my work and my films.” Aamir was also thankful to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who invited him to the dinner party.
It was a big occasion for the Khan where he got to meet some of the biggest personalities. Not only this, the First Lady Michelle Obama told Aamir that she has danced to the song of his film Rang De Basanti.
What Aamir chose to wear for the dinner? The simple man was dapperly dressed in an off-white kurta pyjama. From Bollywood, veteran actress and social activist Shabana Azmi, lyricist Javed Akhtar, and also Oscar-winning musician A R Rahman were invited.
The dinner was held at PM’s house in Delhi.

Aamir Khan in controversy: ‘Peepli Live’ is a film that doesn’t quite deserve the controversy it has germinated. It is a film to be hailed, to be applauded and embraced but a spat over it is certainly undesirable. But for quite a few days, the rift between Aamir Khan and director Anusha Rizvi has been brewing headlines.

Anusha, who helmed the film, has now drawn back from its Oscar promotion coz she fees that Aamir is running away with the credit. Besides, she is also not in favour of its commercialisation but wanted it to go sans cheap publicity.
On the other hand, producer Aamir has a different mindset. He feels that a film of such supreme quality needs to be viewed by the masses and hence, he won’t shy away from his duties of promoting the film.
During the DVD launch of the film, Aamir opened up and spoke to the press citing that the film neither belonged to him nor to Anusha rather it is for the public. Though Aamir refused to comment on whether Anusha’s decision to back out is correct or not he did mention that as an individual, she is entitled to her own thoughts but he, himself, was very clear about what he wanted to do with it.
Even as the film knocks at the doors of Oscars, it is ironic that the film that tried to spread awareness and showcase media’s atrocity has landed itself in a scandalous trouble.

Kareena Kapoor join another Project of Aamir Khan: Since the announcement of Aamir Khan’s next film, his fans have been waiting with bated breath to find out who would be cast opposite him. The film will be co-produced by
Farhan Akhtar, Riteish Sidhwani and Aamir.

3 Idiots is the biggest hit in the history of Hindi cinema. Naturally, every actress in the country would want to work with the Ghajini actor.
Every B-Town belle has sent him feelers and expressed the desire to woo him on the big screen. But according to our source, Kareena Kapoor has bagged the romantic lead opposite Aamir Khan.
Deepika Padukone was a strong contender for the leading lady part. Reveals an insider, “It’s a two-heroine film. Aamir was keen to repeat his 3 Idiots leading lady.
“Meanwhile, Riteish and Farhan wanted Deepika as they’ve worked with her before in Karthik Calling Karthik and found her to be a thorough professional and sincere in her attitude towards work. However, they all decided to go with Bebo. What worked in her favour is their last big hit together and the fact that AK believes she fits into any character comfortably.”
In contention
The insider swears that talks are on with Katrina Kaif to play the second female lead. The yet-to-be titled suspense drama is being directed by Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd director Reema Kagti. The film will go on floors on February 2011.

Aamir Khan playing ‘Suspense Drama’: Aamir Khan will end his over a year long acting sabbatical with a lead role in a suspense drama to be directed by Reema Kagti.
The film will be co-produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Excel Entertainment owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Farhan, who last worked with Aamir as director and co-producer of Dil Chahta Hai (2001), is excited about the new film.
“It feels great to be collaborating with Aamir a decade after Dil Chahta Hai. We had been hoping to do a film together since then. And I’m thrilled that it is finally happening with this script,” he said. [via TOI]
The announcement of Aamir Khan’s next film ends speculation that he may feature in a negative role in Dhoom-3, or work with Yash Chopra’s directorial comeback opposite his Veer Zara co-star Preity Zinta.
Besides Aamir Khan, the new film will feature two leading ladies.
Reema, who earlier directed Excel Entertainment’s Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2006), is scripting the new film with Zoya Akhtar. Production is scheduled to start in February 2011.
According to TOI, Aamir is looking at two more scripts as follow up projects.
Aamir Khan was last seen in 3-Idots (2009), Bollywood’s highest grosser to date.

Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dhobi Ghat’ releasing come soon but?: Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dhobi Ghat’ (the directorial debut of wife Kiran Rao) was slated to release on 25th February. However, now the maverick and dexterous Aamir has decided to unleash it on 21st January. The fact that Aamir has preponed his film by a month is not going down the throat of director Vishal Bharadwaj who is apparently displeased.
Reason? Well, he was planning to release his Priyanka Chopra starrer flick ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ on that date.
Reasons why Aamir has preponed his film:
1. Firstly, the cricket World Cup is to begin next year and hence the date of 25th February won’t be an auspicious time for any Bollywood film.
2. Secondly, 21st January is a good time to release the film given that it is the festive week with 26th January being observed as India’s Republic Day. “Aamir feels the earlier he comes during the year the better. The January 26 weekend is a great time to release a film.”
Now, since UTV has produced both ‘Dhobi Ghat’ and ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’, it is now pressuring Vishal to change the date of his flick. Aamir and Vishal are not on very amiable terms and this tiff would only add to their personal woes.
