The Spice Girls say goodbye to their fans in one last concert of their reunion tour in Toronto, Canada. The concert was very emotional for the 5 girls and there were a lot of tears and hugs, demolishing the idea of a war between the girls. I do believe this is the last time we are going to see the Spice Girls together on stage. Some of the girls fulfilled their wishes to have their kids on the same stage with them and overall the show was quite amazing. The Spice Girls left this goodbye message on their official site:
Hello… Our time is up… we’ve come to the end of the road… there are tears of both sadness and joy. Look how far we’ve come! Who would have thought that our reunion could have turned out to be this amazing? It just shows what can grow out of an exciting thought, an idea, a hope, a dream. Yes, our reunion tour is proof that dreams do come true. We have been lucky enough to have shared it with the most loyal fans in the world. Ten years on, you came back still wanting more… and it looks like we made some new friends along the way. You have inspired and ignited us with each show, the 47 that we performed, each time was amazing and it is thanks to you. So we look to the future with hope and imagination and let Girl Power live on through all of you as it will continue in us and the future generations to come. We have learnt so much through you and through each other. “Never give up on the good times always believe in the love you find.” We hate goodbyes but sadly the time has come to take our final bow so maybe our song says it best: “Goodbye my friend, it’s not the end… So glad we made it, time will never ever change it… “ Mission Accomplished…
Love Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria xxxxx
Victoria made sure it was a night to remember as she put on a show of raunchy dancing with one of the Spice’s backing dancers, dressed only in a black lace basque and matching lacy tights. It was an emotional farewell, with Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Geri and Mel C gathering at the end for a group hug and individual embraces throughout the show. An emotional Geri said: “I’ve just got to say, as you know, this is the last night of the tour and we never dreamt we’d ever back together and be such a success and who knows if we’ll ever get back together again.” The Spice Girls closed the show with a rousing final performance of “Spice Up Your Life.” That’s it Y’all… it’s the end of an era, The Spice Girls Girl Power Era!! They will be missed…
This is really sad news for some fans that were actually still hoping to see the Spice Girls in action. Well not this time but they still kinda hint some chance in the future for another reunion. This is a little piece of the official statement from theSpiceGirls.com:
In the US the LA Daily News reported, “They may just be better than ever on this tour,” and that the tour “wasn’t a comeback at all, it was an upgrade”. The San Francisco Chronicle wrote, “The Spice Girls is the reunion that matters this year. Spice Girls prove they have staying power”. In the UK the Independent On Sunday commented, “Brassier, bolder and better than ever. This was a spectacular show.” The News Of The World claimed, “Those girls are STILL amazing on stage. What a show – everything all the mad fans could hope for after ten long years of waiting.”
Sadly the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria. It was announced in June that, as well as the Europe and the US, the girls planned to visit Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina. Due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and the US along with the touring logistics for such a massive production it was not possible to fit everything in. As the girls return to normal family life and the kids go back to school they are reviewing all the options, who knows what the future might bring! The girls said: “We’ve had such an amazing time over the last 3 months. It’s been incredible being back together and seeing our fans again. We want to thank everyone who came to see us. It was all so mad the first time round, so we’ve really been able to appreciate it properly this time. There have been so many highlights and good times that we know it will be hard to be apart after Toronto. Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now but who knows what will happen next.”
But I think there won’t be much hope for another reunion, since Victoria Beckham just admitted she was the real reason for this abrupt end to the tour. Victoria claims she wants to devote her time to be a fashion designer quitting the music industry for good. She won’t be really missed in music… she wasn’t much of a singer… I just think that if you agree to do a tour you have to do it!! “I was very nervous about going back into the Spice Girls because I didn’t want to send out a confused message,” she admitted to Britain’s News of The World newspaper. “The reason I decided to do the tour was to show my kids that mummy was a pop star once. I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. I’m not in the music industry any more. I’m in the fashion industry.” “I’m putting together a team of people now so it will be my main project when I finish this tour in a month. It’s the last opportunity there will be to see the Spice Girls together.” – Victoria reveals. So it’s truly the end of an era… Spice Girls are over… Source: 1, 2
The Spice Girls couldn’t resist bringing their bundles of joy on stage while singing their song Mama at London’s O2 Arena. The result was a beautiful moment between moms and kids that had their ears all protected from the noise levels on stage. The Spice Kids are Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz (Beckham Kids), Phoenix Chi and baby Angel Iris (Scary’s Kids) and finally beautiful 4 months old baby Beau! Emma Bunton can’t keep her eyes out of the latest Spice Family member and yeah he is soooo cute! Congratulations to Emma and Jade!! Geri’s daughter Bluebell was the only one not to make an appearance and that was probably cause of the chicken pox that caused some trouble on the begging of the Reunion Tour. Only Melanie C doesn’t have a baby yet but she says that the clock is ticking and she would really want to be a mom specially after she had more contact with the Spice Kids. Photos
After Baby Spice tumbled on stage in their last concert in Las Vegas and she had to attend the launch of the ‘Spice One’ plane in crutches, I didn’t think they would be back on stage so soon! In spite of Emma not being fully recovered she gave her best on stage and she was spotted wearing much comfortable boots. The Spice Girls got great reviews too and the fans were totally wild in the O2 Arena in London.
They are doing so well and enjoying the reunion so much that there is a possibility to extend the tour and get more songs released! Yes please we want more Spice!!!
“Although the initial plan was to do a 45-date world tour, release one new track plus a greatest hits album – before quitting on a real high – each of them has enjoyed every minute of their comeback and are seriously considering extending the reunion. This would mean getting a serious team of song writers behind them and producing four or five stonking hits, all potential number ones. It’s just up to them to decide what happens next. Certainly, offers are on the table.” DailyMail
The Spice Girls kicked off their tour yesterday in Vancouver and they completely rocked the stage.
The girls opened with Spice Up Your Life and danced on raised platforms before walking just inches from the ecstatic fans down the stage catwalk. The performance was accompanied by sophisticated set changes including revolving platforms, trap doors and video sequences. DM
As for the lip-synching rumors spokesman said “All of the girls sang live. There is a click track for the band to keep them in time, which is standard, but all of the girls’ vocals were live.” Spice Girls gave an energetic performance, sang 21 songs and got everybody singing along to their hits. Even Avril Lavigne was there!!!

David Beckham was there to support the girls in their first show and he bought each one a gold bracelet for good luck!
Spice Girls tour starts tonight in Vancouver, Canada but the girls have been rehearsing hard and I’m sure they are gonna give us a good show. The outfits for the tour were all special made by designer and close friend of Victoria Beckham, Roberto Cavalli (Roberto’s draws below). I love the outfits of that picture above, absolutely fabulous and they capture the Spice fever of the 90’s!! The girls will have short solo performances except for Victoria who will be posing like she is on a catwalk.
The girls, Emma, Geri, Mel C and Victoria surprised DWTS finalist and band mate Melanie Brown backstage.
Melanie B and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy did an amazing job on their freestyle performance, I loved it! Watch the video below. For Mel’s Cha Cha Cha preformance go here.
You can bid the Official Spice Girls 2008 Calendar on Ebay or get the Spice Girls Greatest Hits Special Edition on Amazon. That would make a fabulous Christmas gift!!
How is this possible?? The dresses are both from Roberto Cavalli’s old collection and no one warned Emma and Geri they were already used by Britney Spears!!
It’s Britney Spears b*tches, somebody had to know she already did those dresses!! Just get the incompetent stylist fired!!! Anyway Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell still looked gorgeous at Victoria’s Secret Pink Carpet… but the real question is who wore it better??
The Spice Girls got out of their military uniforms to get into sailors uniforms to perform for Children in Need from Dancing With the Stars’ Studio in LA. Again they looked absolutely fabulous and they brought out a dynamic performance for ‘Stop’, their only single that didn’t go to #1 and was stuck at #2.
As for the critics on their lip-synced performance on Victoria’s Secret Show, a spokesman for the band said: “The girls were never asked to perform live as their performance was recorded for the TV show. But rest assured the girls will be fully live for their opening tour date on December 2.”
