Hugh Laurie loved to read in his spare time before he landed the role of the grouchy doctor in the Fox drama House – but the piles of scripts he is forced to read and remember have left him unable to commit anything else to memory.
He says, “It turns out I can’t read any more. I can physically read, but I have no memory. Because of television I have to absorb a lot of stuff for a very short period of time. I’ve decided to pick one novel and read it over and over again for the rest of my life. I’m thinking Grapes of Wrath.”
Someone please help Hugh with those scripts, it can’t be easy for a regular person to wake up one day to learn all the huge, difficult medical terms and still keep his sanity!!

Dr. Gregory House is an out of the closet Vicodin addicted… Vicodin is a strong painkiller highly addictive so don’t even try it!! Don’t try to play Dr. House, cause you are not him… 
Hugh Laurie admits he attempted to get closer to the character he portrays on House — by experimenting with Vicodin. “I wouldn’t recommend it — we have to be careful,” Laurie, 48, tells Britain’s Radio Times magazine, “But then again … if you’re not in pain it gives a floaty, pleasurable feeling.”
Being apart from his family is probably the reason why Hugh is not happy with his Golden Globe winning performance, but we love House!!
“I’m hugely surprised House survives. The odds are against you in this competitive business; wolves snap at your heels. It’s hard to say if I’m pleased with the show,” he says.
“I don’t watch regularly. I avert my eyes when my children have it on. I hate seeing myself, but it’s even worse hearing my American accent … I had no idea I sound so retarded, a dull monotone, full of clunking mistakes.”
Laurie says he hasn’t brought his family, who continue to live in London, to be with him in Los Angeles because of fears that this might hex the show’s run.
“I have this vague feeling that the moment I’m comfortable with my place in the world there’ll be retribution,” he says. “That’s one reason I didn’t want my family to live here. The moment we put down roots the whole thing will be called off.”
Laurie also says the pressures of filming House mean he’s “off the market” for cameos on other shows. And its success hasn’t lead to any offers from his native land either.
“There’s a notion that I’ve sold out,” he says. “Sold out what exactly? There’s a peculiar British attitude that I took an oath I wouldn’t be successful, and reneged on it.”
Ohhh we love you Hugh, you are the best… damn British cold attitude!!! We HEART Hugh Laurie!!

Now this is rare! Hugh is a very private person and it’s not like him to get out much, specially cause his family still leaves in London while he is shooting House in LA. When son visits daddy Hugh in LA, they get to spend some quality time together.
Hugh’s son is named Charles and he is 19 years old, he is cute but barely legal so no comments… ahh I still think the father is much sexier 
. Charles must be on this freaky rebel stage since he is wearing different color shoes (one blue, one red)… or maybe he just wants it to match his Union Jack cap!!

The tension of being away from his family, wife and 3 kids that still live in London, is getting to Hugh but he found the best sport to relax or at least blow off some steam. What sport would that be? Boxing of course!
“He goes to a boxing class at least once a week near his home and is by far the oldest in a group of about 12,” said a source. “He is usually quite morose but cheers up enormously during his boxing sessions.”
Rumors say that Hugh Laurie is going through a mid-life crisis after he bought himself a bright orange vintage Porsche 911. Anyway Hugh still does an amazing job with Dr. House that i love soo much!

I absolutely loved the premiere of the 4th season of House, episode called “Alone” although i thought it could be a little more exciting!!
